Chenango Contracting, Inc. was
founded in 1992 in Binghamton, New York, by Rod Parker and Charles
Rhoades. Both principals are active in the corporation and are actively
involved in day-to-day management of operations. Both principals have
extensive construction backgrounds with involvement in general and
heavy/highway projects ranging to 160 million dollars.
Our main business focus is the installation of Geomembrane liners and
related products. Through the skill and dedication of our employees we
have steadily grown to be one of the largest geosynthetic installers in
the Northeast. We believe that we are uniquely positioned to be small
enough to care that every project is given individual attention and is
properly executed, yet we are large enough to handle large complex
projects. Since inception we have installed over 250 million square feet
of geosynthetic products including HDPE, LLDPE, PVC, Polypropylene,
XR-5, Hypalon, and specialty liners, geocomposites, geonets, geotextiles,
geogrids and geosynthetic clay liners. We provide lining systems for new
landfill construction, landfill closures, containments, water
reservoirs, wastewater treatment, ponds, and specialty construction such
as floating cover and vapor barriers.
We have earned a reputation for quality in our installations. We track
welding performance for all of our technicians. Our technicians are
rewarded for superior weld quality. We routinely beat published industry
averages for defects when our liners are tested by electrical leak
location methods. Our QA/QC documentation reports regularly earn us
praise from Engineers. Our QA/QC program is administered by Carl
Burdick, P.E. who personally reviews all documentation reports.
Training is a key factor in our success. Many of our technicians have
attended training programs at the manufacturers plant or at our facility
under the manufacturers guidance. All of our field employees have OSHA
40-hr HAZWOPER training, OSHA 10-hr certificates and current 8-hr
updates. We have several technicians and supervisors with IAGI welding
certifications. We conduct safety training for our employees and
supervisors. All of our supervisors and foremen have 10-hour OSHA
supervisors training. We have a low EMR rate as a result of our safety
program and we conduct drug screenings to maintain a drug free workplace
and to comply with most Corporate and Federal Standards.
We are a production-oriented company. Our goal is to complete our tasks
as quickly and efficiently as possible with no mistakes. We value repeat
business, and we want to work again with companies that match our
corporate philosophy.
We are a financially sound company and we pride ourselves in our ability
and our desire to promptly pay suppliers. We have an ample line of
credit and we can provide performance and payment bonds on most
projects.
